This recipe is so simple because you literally just dump the ingredients together, season your steaks with salt and pepper, and then place the marinade in a bag with your steaks. We recommend marinating them for a full day or making this an overnight steak marinade so that the steaks really soak in all of the delicious flavors from the marinade.

Once marinated for minimum 4-6 hours, place directly on the grill and cook to your desired temperature.

What’s a great steak marinade?

Great steak marinades contain all sorts of different options include balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, steak sauce, mustard, garlic, and more…but our steak marinade is great because of the combination of loads of delicious flavors all in one marinade!

Should you marinate a steak?

In our opinion, absolutely. Marinating a steak makes the meat more tender and flavorful. If you don’t have time to marinade, I would suggest something as simple as a salt and pepper rub or using Montreal Steak seasoning to make your beef extra flavorful.

How long should you marinate a steak in the fridge?

We recommend marinating this steak overnight, but if that’s not an option than at least 4-6 hours should do. The longer you can let it marinate the more flavorful the steak will be!

What is the best way to tenderize a steak?

One of the easiest ways to tenderize a steak is to marinate it and use salt and pepper. Before cooking, let it come to room temperature and then cook it low and slow. Once you hit the right internal temperature, remove it from the grill and let it rest a few minutes before cutting open. And as always, cut AGAINST the grain if you’re cutting it up.

What does marinating do?

Marinating a steak adds delicious flavor to the steak, as well as tenderizes it. Adding an acidic ingredient, in this case lemon juice, helps tenderize the steak too.
